For nearly six years, Nevadans have been disillusioned with Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. Since taking office, she has always championed the priorities of the far left, not Nevada. She voted with Joe Biden 93% of the time and left a trail of destruction in its wake. But this November, voters have an escape: Republican Adam Laxalt.
At every turn, Cortez Masto undermined the hard-working Nevadans. Prices in the state have risen rapidly, with Nevada ranks fourth among the states for the highest total monthly inflation costs. In July, Nevadans shelled out an incredible $831 in extra expenses. Gas prices hover around a dollar more than the national average. And that’s not to mention soaring housing costs. Nevadans have seen monthly rents soar under the leadership of Biden and the Democrats, while the housing market has completely shut many potential buyers out of the market. In fact, Nevada is the the worst in the country for affordable housing. It’s no wonder Nevada voters say the economy is their main concern.
But rather than working to lighten those burdens, Cortez Masto vote for Biden’s $1.9 trillion “stimulus,” which even liberal economists saying sent inflation skyrocketing to 40 year highs. She did little when the Biden administration actually raised taxes over thousands of workers tipping in Nevada. And most recently, she voted to hire enough IRS agents to fill Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena. Cortez Masto may view Biden’s so-called “Cut Inflation Act” as a “big winbut for Nevadans who see their taxes rise during a recession, it’s a slap in the face.
When they don’t care about making ends meet, Nevadans worry about public safety. The Silver State has seen an increase in its murder rate. Significantly violent crimes get ahead the national average. Criminals know they can get away with anything thanks to the Democrats’ soft-on-crime agenda. But instead of having the backs of law-abiding citizens, Cortez Masto praised a radical nonprofit that supports the Defund the Police movement. Worse still, she refused to reject the endorsement of supporters of the ‘defund’ movement – even as her own constituents bear the brunt of a crime wave.
As if these failures weren’t bad enough, Cortez Masto brags about the strength of the Nevada school system. In reality, the state is seen as the second least educated in the country, and math and reading proficiency as well as graduation rates have fall. But as Nevada students struggle with basic academics, Cortez Masto lines up with awakened activists working to spread critical race theory in K-12 classrooms. Apparently pushing an anti-American worldview down students’ throats is more important than ensuring basic literacy.
But Cortez Masto’s record is catching up with her. His close alignment with Biden becomes dead weight; only 37% of registered voters in Nevada endorses Biden, while 55% of voters give him negative ratings. Meanwhile, Democratic voter registration in the Silver State is trending down. Registrations have fallen from 75,000 at the start of the year to around 50,000. Considering Cortez Masto won his race by just 27,000 ballots in 2017, the Democrats’ shrunken base doesn’t bode well for his candidacy. to re-election.
Democrats know the momentum is on the side of voters seeking a different vision. Republican Adam Laxalt brings the experience and patriotism of a veteran to the Senate race. His experience as Nevada Attorney General has proven his willingness to demand justice and hold criminals accountable. He really wants to get our border crisis under control. While Joe Biden has yet to make the trip to the US-Mexico border, Laxalt recently visited McAllen, TX and spoke with Border Patrol agents about the overwhelming situation they face every day. And as a father of four school-aged children, Laxalt believes in harnessing the power of school choice to ensure that every child has a chance to achieve the American dream.
When Nevadans vote for unemployed Catherine Cortez Masto in November, it will be her fault. As the 50th vote in a deadlocked Senate, she had the chance to use her influence to protect Nevada workers and cut taxes. Instead, she opted to appease her colleagues on the left and put Biden’s liberal agenda first. On election day, the Silver State will elect a senator who represents its values: Adam Laxalt. And it can’t come a moment too soon.
