Arguably the most important and popular small business restaurant has opened it’s second location in our very own downtown Silver Spring. After months of waiting Warren Brown’s Cakelove Bakery has it’s grand opening February 4th, 2006. The renowned Warren Brown who has been featured on the Oprah Show and has his very own show “Sugar Rush” on the Food Network brings his specialized cakes and pastries to Silver Spring. Cakelove is located on Ellsworth drive(across from Discovery Communication headquarters) in the Downtown Silver spring mixed use development or call 301-565-CAKE(2253).

Commentary: I have already had the honor of eating one of Cakeloves cakes (Suisse’s a Pink Lady) and as expected it tasted like no other cake to come before me. Simply put I have been missing out. The frosting wasn’t over done and is different from the grocery store cakes that you just want to scrap off. The cake is moist and although I took it lightly, as Mr. Brown says it is best served at room temperature. After consuming one of there cakes you will probably find me there on a regular basis and I’m hoping they expand the menu too. Thanks must go to Warren Brown for not only his cakes but for choosing Silver Spring as his second location.
