Some Dislike American Apparels Opening Posters
By Silver Springer • Apr 25th, 2006 • Category: UncategorizedThe Silver Spring Scene was the first to tell you about clothing store American Apparel filling the store front at the corner of Fenton and Colesville. Now the large posters placed at the store front windows are causing some controversy. Passers by say the images are inapproriate in public. The news has spread so far, CBS channel 9 news had a 90 second segment on the issue. The controversy only gave the chain more publicity as people are now more curious to check it out.
Commentary: Grow up Silver Spring.

While I like the marketing and promotion of SS, Gimmee a break people! You’re puritanical roots are shining through.
I am not really upset by the ads, but I don’t think that they are particularly attractive. I promote the idea of not airbrushing, but these seem a little too sweat, gritty, and drugged-out to me.
I am curious to know why the arrival of this store has not been announced on the downtownsilverspring.com website.’
