MoCo Progressive Disappears
The disappearance of the MoCo Progressive political blog has stirred up so much commotion it even has the Washington Post writing an article about it.

20910 and 90210
While the article is about Discovery kids and Hilton teaming up for some package promotion, it’s more interesting to point out that Silver Spring and Beverly Hills, CA are noted side by side. Ironically they are both known for media\arts and share the same digits in their zip codes if you didn’t know. We were here first though. :)
NOAA Protest
Seeing is believing, as was witnessed and finally found here. Protestors came to the NOAA (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration) headquarters in downtown Silver Spring demanding for the head of the administration to resign for an alleged cover up of hurricane Katrina and other devastating storms last year. The protestors consisted of the newly formed U.S. Climate Emergency Council and survivors of hurricane Katrina.

Huge Silverdocs Advertisement
Discovery Communications put up a huge banner of sorts a few days ago on the front entrance façade of their headquarters, promoting the Silverdocs documentary film festival which starts June 13th – June 18th. Very nice!

  1. Yes, but their zip code had a TV show. Would anyone watch “Silver Spring 20910″?

  2. Hey, why not? I can think of a lot less interesting places to make a show about. It’s not as if a bunch of whiney valley teenagers played by 30-year olds, crying about not getting their 50k convertible for flag day wasn’t painful enough.

  3. I just wanted to say that this “News” feature was/is really great.

  4. Yeah that NOAA protest was one for the record books!!! How many protesters were there….1 or 2!!!!!!

  5. It wasn’t on the level of an IMF meeting protest but somewhere in the range of 10-20 were there.
