Duncan Exits Governor’s Race

County of Executive of Montgomery County and Democratic gubernatorial candidate for Maryland State governor has decided to drop out of the race due to clinical depression. He led an aggressive although negative campaign against his democratic opponent Martin O’Malley, Mayor of Baltimore and is now leaving him to challenge current governor Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. for the governor’s seat. Duncan has been the County Executive of the most affluent county in the State and one of wealthiest in the country for over a decade. He played a significant role in the revitalization of downtown Silver Spring.
