Kids at the Forest Knolls Elementary school got to test out some new toy artillery and other new games. “It’s fun. You get to shoot your friends, and the Nerf darts stick to you,” said Kai Johnson, 10.
SILVERDOCS Winners
JESUS CAMP by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady won the big Sterling Award Feature. The independent film is about a youth summer camp that sounds a lot like the kind where people drink the “kool-Aidâ€.
Grand Prix of Silver Spring
Wow, Silver Spring has it’s own Grand Prix. Winning cyclist got glasses, watches and $100 gift certificate to a tattoo parlor. Winner Nick Bax, 16 of Bethesda went head first into a lamp post after making too fast a turn before finishing the race. The event was held on Fathers day.
