One reader notes that the Silver Plaza fountain is finally back up and running or at least going through testing by an eye-witness account yesterday night.

  1. Way to go, just in time for winter!

  2. Just enough time to avoid the kids too!

  3. I missed the fountain. I’m glad it’s back!

  4. It is open, but they are not letting the lil’ ones play in it anymore, having cordoned off the perimeter. I suspect that the lil’ ones are what put the fountain out of commission in the first place, but it always brought a smile to my face to see them playing there.

  5. It appears that not all of the “spouts” are working and it’s mainly the middle spout that is being used. It’s definitely not the same pretty fountain it used to be. In fact, it’s kind of crappy now. I could be wrong, but I’m assuming they are still working on it.

  6. Fountain Facts -
The fountain will be on in time for Magical Montgomery. The reason no one can play in the fountain now is because all the chemicals need to circulate thru the system, which should take a few more days. All the spouts are working, it just takes a while to get everything circulating since dirt and debris have worked its way into the spouts.

  7. the real question i have is why the fountain only seemed to last a couple of years before needing repair, which involved ripping out all the tiles and morter and laying new tiles. i would hope that there was a warrenty, does anyone know if there was?
