Silver Spring Bloggers Have a Little Get Together

By Silver Springer • May 9th, 2007 • Category: Silver Springer

Silver Spring bloggers had their own little bloggers summit yesterday at Gateway’s Heliport Gallery in South Silver Spring. The discussion was hosted by David Fogel, Gateway’s Silver Spring Project Director and moderated by Robert Jaeggi of the Silver Spring Town Center Social Network.

Bloggers were placed in front of an audience, answering questions about the impact of blogging on Silver Spring. Blog creators of Just Up the Pike, Silver Spring Penguin, South Silver Spring, ThayerAvenue.com, and of course yours truly of the Silver Spring Scene exchanged ideas and compliments while looking towards the future and having some cake.

Oh yeah, I think I saw I Hate Yuppies somewhere in the audience?

  1. OMG, I am so sorry I could not attend last night! Real Estate is a BUSY BUSINESS right now with 12 hour days. I want to know what I HATE YUPPIES was like??? and what did you all talk about?? Please fill me in.

  2. How many people came to the summit? And since blogging is often anonymous, did people freely identify themselves by the screen names?

  3. Woodsider,

There were probably about 10 people plus bloggers.

You’ll find the answer to your second question here:

  4. I think about 10-15 people. Some people identified themselves as posters.

  5. Nope. I wasn’t there. But I am thinking about making a T-shirt with the words “I Hate Yuppies” on it. I will walk around Silver Spring and see if anybody identifies me. At least I will get a few one-finger salutes walking down Ellsworth.

Note to Debbie Cook: The real estate business is busy right now???? Bwa Hah Hah Hah! Last time I checked, listings were going south all around Silver Spring. My advice to potential buyers…WAIT, WAIT, and WAIT some more. Let the home sellers bleeeeeeed. Renting is such a better deal right now.

I will buy a 3 bedroom house in the heart of Silver Spring for $200,000. It will happen some day. I know it.

  6. When the home prices of SS drop to 200K, it’s time to move the _uck out!

  7. If I Hate Yuppies was going to be there, I would have gone.
