Silver Spring is going big time now. Unfortunately, I will still have to trek to the Black Cat and 9:30 Club in the District because LiveNation isn’t the best place for independent rock musicians.
I wonder what it will do to the property values?
You don’t feel you have input into who comes? I’m sure there will be independent management that would cater to the surrounding community. Besides, they want to sell tickets to those who will take the time to come.
I agree with IHateYuppies. I have been to the Fillmore (West), and it died with Bill Graham. The Birchmere had class, while Live Nation plays warmed over crap for boomers & the younger generation that is afraid to committ to good groups of their own, like “And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead”, and “Arcade Fire”. I saw Pink Floyd live, 3 years before “Dark Side Of The Moon”, and while they were great, back then, they have moved on, and so have I.
