Ocean City, MD based Fractured Prune closer to opening

As reported first on the Silver Spring Scene, a Fractured Prune doughnut shop is coming to town. I drove all the way out to the Cloverly neighborhood of Silver Spring to buy some; the owners were nice enough to throw in some extra ones for me. I like the fact that they not only serve doughnuts but lunch and breakfast sandwiches. But I didn’t like the fact that Fractured Prune doesn’t serve any jelly filled varieties although I was told by a colleague that people don’t eat jelly filled doughnuts anymore.

The Awesome Room

Jake Young and The Awesome room will be throwing another event at McGinty’s.

It’s in Silver Spring, at McGinty’s Public House on Feb. 28th, 9pm-11pm.

The Awesome Room is a monthly comics showcase for the painfully talented performers of the MD/VA/DC area.
The goal is to take everything that stinks about comedy shows, and do the opposite.

The show is short, cheap, and completely original every month.
Performers are encouraged to keep it adventurous, innovative and honest.
