Silver Spring Inc.

By Silver Springer • Jul 21st, 2008 • Category: Government and Politics, MORE NEWS, Silver Springer

The decision on whether the 1938 Falkland Apartments, North Parcel would be spared from the wrecking ball or if developer Home Properties would be able to move forward and build the largest residential project in Silver Spring in recent times, was left open ended as the planning board takes more time to sort it all out.

A Metamorphosis in Downtown Silver Spring

Isn’t it great to see more small businesses like [...]

Is it too late to dump the Civic Center?

By Silver Springer • Jul 2nd, 2008 • Category: MORE NEWS, Real Estate

At the cost of only $12 million the Chelsea School has single handedly accomplished what the County couldn’t. Despite a hefty design competition calling architectural firms from around the country, the County still couldn’t pull off something as magnificent as what the Chelsea School (not too far down Ellsworth) has managed to scrap together. I [...]

By Silver Springer • Jun 30th, 2008 • Category: MORE NEWS, Real Estate

Cause that’s the bulk of what we’re getting. The residential inundation continues in downtown Silver Spring and the latest participant is Washington Property Company and their 1050 Ripley Street. Despite the heavy market downturn and a tsunami of residential/apartment construction, the developer is still moving forward. In fact, On July 3rd, 2008, Washington Property Co [...]
