The call is open to creative documentaries from the Central and Eastern European region, tackling contemporary topics, challenging genre and media boundaries and rethinking audience participation. The market welcomes films that aim to deliver intense and engaging experiences and change the way we think about current issues, audiences, ways of telling stories and the world itself. The call is open to completed documentaries produced/co-produced in the CEE region in 2021 and 2022, as well as first cuts. Only films that have not yet been submitted to the East Silver Market are eligible.

In terms of deadlines, the teams behind the films produced in 2021 and 2022 can apply until May 31, while those behind the projects in the editing stage can do so until July 31. More details and the application form can be found here.

The East Silver Market is dedicated solely to documentary cinema from Central and Eastern Europe. The main objective of the market is to support the distribution and promotion of documentary films from the region. Participating teams have the chance to connect with key industry professionals during the Ji.hlava IDFF, while the Eastern Silver Caravan festival service draws the attention of international audiences to the most interesting films. All selected films are part of an online catalog of East Silver documentary films and are automatically considered for the shortlist of the Ji.hlava IDFF program.
