Gold and silver mix spot, futures flat



Gold rate today, silver rate today: Gold and silver prices opened on a mixed note in the nation’s major spot markets on Friday, August 12, 2022.

The opening price of 999 purity gold was 52,481 rupees per 10 grams, up 21 rupees from Thursday’s closing price of 52,460 rupees, while that of 999 purity silver was of 58,490 rupees per kg, down 210 rupees from 58,700 rupees, data available on India Bullion and the Jewelers Association (IBJA) website showed.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), the gold contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 52,318.00 per 10 grams, down Rs 18.00 (0.03%) at 2:51 p.m. that the silver contract for September delivery was at Rs. 58,392.00, up Rs 15.00 (0.03%).

Commenting on the gold trade, Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities) at HDFC Securities, said: “Gold prices have been trading steadily with COMEX spot gold prices, which were trading near $1,788 an ounce on Friday October gold futures at MCX were trading near Rs. range against hawkish FED numbers and weak inflation, while the weaker dollar capped lower US FED hinted at aggressive rate hikes despite moderating inflation. we expect gold prices to trade sideways for the day with COMEX spot gold support at $1,770 and resistance at $1,805 an ounce. located at Rs 52,000 and the resistance at Rs 52,700 for 10 grams.
